Today, October 7th, 2020, the Nigerian institute of training and development organised the maiden edition of its Chapter’s anniversary and special induction ceremonies for new members at the Pilots’ Lounge, Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.

It was indeed a wonderful event courtesy of the Chairman, Lagos state branch, Dr. Oladele Oyatope MITD, the coordinator of Aviation chapter Mr. Samuel Tai Akinro MITD, and other esteemed members. They all contributed tremendously to the success of the event.

The event was a manifestation of one of their focal points and cardinal eight-point agenda of membership drive through reviving non-active Branches, establishment of new Chapters in active branches. This strategy has yielded result within the life of their outgoing administration. They have successfully created three active chapters. Two under Lagos state branch – NITAD-PSSDC and Aviation Chapters and Redeemed Camp Chapter under Ogun State respectively.

The theme of this year’s anniversary lecture titled “Learning and Development: A Panacea for National Capacity Building” is very appropriate and relevant at this time of COVID-19 pandemic which has been a major challenge as it has exposed the vulnerability of the global economies. Continuous knowledge renewal is a panacea to building national capacity required to cope with the new normal. This theme was well attended to by the guest speakers who made absolute justice to it.

Mrs. Jolaoso Janet FITD, President and Chairman of Council encouraged members of the Aviation chapter to be more committed, be in good standing financially at the Chapter, Branch and National levels and also participate actively at the upcoming 24th Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled for Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Lagos Chambers of Commerce and industry, CBD, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
