1. Give Them Your Presence
The rarest and most precious thing that you can give your spouse to improve your relationship is your presence.
We live in a world that is constantly distracted.
We are bombarded with demands on our time and focus so incessantly that we rarely, if ever, take the time to breath into the moment and simple be with another person.
In my experience, this is one of the best ways to improve any relationship.
At the end of the day, turn off everything, your computer, smart phone, TV, tablet, Kindle, EVERYTHING that is distracting you from being here now.
And then share a few moments of presence with your partner.
Talk to each other about your days, your goals, your dreams, your relationship, anything!
Talk to them and be fully present in that conversation. Listen to them, make them feel understood, ask questions with sincere curiosity.
When you inject presence into your relationships, everything changes.
2. Set Goals (And Achieve Them) Together
Another fantastic way to improve your relationship with your partner is to set and achieve goals together.
So often, it’s easy for one person in a relationship to assume the role of the “Go Getter” while the other person feels left behind or like they are simply along for the ride.
This creates a breeding ground for ego, insecurity, unmet expectations and frustration.
Instead, commit to set and achieve massive things TOGETHER.
Set fun and exciting goals that light both of you up.
It doesn’t have to be financial either.
You can set goals around health, adventure, spirituality, and even intimacy and s£x.
Couples who achieve together tend to stay together.
When you are operating as a team, your relationship will improve exponentially.
3. Communicate Honestly
Most men are clueless about how women work.
I know very few men who truly understand the opposite s£x and and the only way to improve things is to communicate honestly and with authenticity.
Oftentimes, men are completely unaware of your emotional states and internal frustrations simply because the s£xes communicate differently.
If you want to improve your relationship with your husband, talk to him often and honestly.
Tell him how you feel. Ask for his input. Always give him confirmation when he makes you feel loved and supported. And try to be understanding when he messes up (because we all do).
If you are a man reading this, the same lessons applies to you as well. It’s easy to bottle up emotions and expect that women just know what you’re thinking. But that’s not how the world operates.
Unless you communicate with your lover, you will lose them.
4. Express Your Love Daily
Never miss an opportunity to express love for your partner.
Each and every day, try to find some small way to show them that you care and that you love them, even when…. actually ESPECIALLY when the two of you have been arguing or fighting.
The more love that you express, I believe, the more love will come back to you.
Write notes, send dirty texts (your husband will love it), kiss them, hug them, love them, and do it every day.
Remember, “Love” is a verb, not just a feeling.
The more you express love the more you can experience love.
5. Love Yourself First
If you want to improve your relationship and create a rock solid marriage, the first place to start is with the person in the mirror.
If you don’t truly love yourself like your life depends on it then how can you ever truly love another person
All great relationships start from a place of love and respect.
And that love and respect must extend to yourself before you can extend it to others.
So if you really want to improve your relationship with your husband, start by improving your relationship with yourself.
Take time to journal, meditate, read, and focus on personal development.
Do the internal work that you need to do to eradicate feelings of insecurity and jealousy.
Love YOURSELF
Because when you love yourself, it’s a lot easier for other people to love you.
